Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. The journalist's report on the lack of response of the police to DUI instances in Charleston led to an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised policy from state officials regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. Following her stint at Charleston, O'Dell worked as anchor for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV as well as an investigative reporter. Then she was hired by Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. O'Dell anchors the main newscast for Access Hollywood. In addition, she contributes to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as and co-hosted a variety of Pre-ShowArrivals shows in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. Her other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
